The traditional gift for the four year anniversary is flowers – lots and lots of flowers. Pictured above, 8 different floral arrangements featuring more then 10 varieties of floral beauty. Flowers have historically carried varying significance and meaning, and thus I carefully curated flowers for today based on what they symbolize: the lily for purity, the rose for love, the carnation for strength, etc. In Southeast Asia, which is the historic birthplace of the now famous camellia flower, the camellia represents longevity, which seemed especially appropriate for this occasion. Gabrielle Chanel fell head over heels for the camellia after one was given to her by her polo-playing lover, Boy Capel. She started pinning silk versions to her lapels, her hair and the blossoms found a home on the black-and-gold-laquered Coromandel screens in her apartment at 31, rue Cambon. Flowers have a rich and deep meaning, and today I was excited to be able to share them with my beloved bebe to mark this significant milestone for us.
