The last time we were the world-famous Chanel headquarters in Paris, we asked the Sales Associate what exactly the boutique carried for menswear. We were curtly informed that Gabriele Coco Chanel was very adamant about catering specifically to womenswear, and therefore Karl Lagerfeld is hesitant to introduce a full menswear collection. Of course, men can still purchase the Small Leather Goods, handbags, sunglasses, accessories, etc., but ultimately, all Chanel is designed and produced for ladies. The only exception, at the time anyway, was a simple selection of six men’s neckties. You know how it is when you find out that a very limited quantity of something is available, right? Well, the rest is history. I am so happy to have a bought something from the esteemed 31 Rue Cambon, at the same time my wife bought her first every Classic Flap bag.
