As mentioned in Update #86, I had the wonderful opportunity of attending the official GreyGoose hosted launch party of brand new high-end menswear store Bloke.
The store carries the usual designer denim such as Rock & Republics, True Religions and William Rast, but also offers Calgary menswear exclusives such as King Baby, William Rast Collection, and Junk de Luxe. The design and esthetic is also very modern chic, with the right amount of masculinity. I loved the store concept a lot. The target demographic is the 18 – 35 year old urban male, who isn’t afraid of a flashy belt buckle, or pairing Jack Purcell Converse Hi-Tops with a blazer.
The event in itself (held on 06.08.09) was an enjoyable experience, with complimentary martinis, amazing beats, and 10% off the entire inventory. I can safely say that I saw some of Calgary’s best dressed at this function, I was absolutely blown away by the style and brands represented. There was also an official afterparty at Vinyl, but we opted out and hit Habitat and BLVD instead.
