A Sock Plant

  • April 5, 2012

Further to my post below on my birthday, I had to highlight this particular present that was conceptualized and brought to my life by my girl. Call me spoiled? Blessed? I say that I’m just darn lucky. Not only does she listen to me, but she uses opportunities to act on my desires. Where would I be without this girl? Lord only knows. Here’s the scope: every morning when getting ready, I always made a comment about my socks. Working in a very uptight Accounting Firm means one of the only places where I can truly have fun with colors is with my socks, and while I do own a few pairs of Happy Socks, some Paul Smiths, a Marc Jacobs pair, I still yearned for more. My standard grey socks were seriously cramping my style, because I can’t exactly rock a pair of bright red leopard skin socks every other day, so the socks had to spaced out, and thus, every single morning when getting ready, I complained about socks. “I need more socks”, “I wish I had cooler socks” etc etc. So my woman did exactly what any sensible woman would: she created me a plan made entirely out of socks, with rolled up socks serving as budding fruit, ready to be picked. I mean, wow, I like to consider myself pretty creative but even I was awestruck at this brilliant idea. Yeah, spoiled I am. Because this was just part of the many gifts she showered me with. Throw in one of my favorite Parisian scents, a much-coveted silk scarf from a certain deceased London designer, a tank from my favorite runway designer and much more, and you’ve got a very fashion-happy Endoxist on his birthday.
