“Sparkling” …STEFANO GABANNA EXPLAINING HIS LATEST RUNWAY COLLECTION,
SHOWCASED YESTERDAY, JUNE 20 2009 IN MILAN ITALY.
Though some analysts have called his collection a bit too Over The Top, I think its perfect. Domenico and Stefano have done a wonderful job of combining all of my favorite fashion obsessions, and maybe this is why I’m so biased about this show. Even though I’ve yet to see the Gucci or Missoni show (which were held in Milan today), I still think Gabanna will be my number one pick from the Milan shows this season. Why? The cuffed pants. The Pochette or the “Borsellino”, as they would say in Milan. The perforated leather. The destroyed denim. The over-sized lapels. The pointy patent dress shoes. The simple grays, whites and blacks. The suit blazer worn with loose fitting jeans. The gladiator sandals. Shoes worn without socks. Pajama-esque shorts. It’s everything I love about clothes, thrown unto one runway.
