After having dreamt of exploring Thailand for so many years, we were so excited to finally arrive in Bangkok and check into the prestigious St. Regis Hotel in the country's capital. Today, I am sharing just eight reasons why you absolutely have to enjoy a stay at this luxury property.
The main reception is actually up on the twelfth floor, but friendly staff are literally everywhere to guide you up, and then, once we arrived, we were welcomed with a traditional Thai Butterfly Pea Flower Tea Lemonade drink.
From the moment the beautifully crafted glass doors are swung open, you are greeted by a warm "Sawatdee-kah", the formal Thai greeting for women. The stunning lobby is the perfect background the insanely generous, warm, and hospitable staff that are omnipresent to assist with bags, with directions, and most importantly, with smiles.
Never have we ever felt so instantly relaxed, calm, excited, and luxurious then at our stay at the stunning St. Regis Bangkok. It truly felt like going back in time to a grander time of luxury travel, where every detail is thought of, and you are no stranger in a mass hotel.
We felt like true special visitors, and that feeling, is truly priceless. Here, though, is eight other reasons to stay this majestic hotel.
8 / the bathroom
Our One Bedroom Corner Suite - aptly named the Caroline Astor Suite - had the most incredible corner bathroom, with stand alone tub, his + her vanity, and the most astonishing natural light shining through. This alone is reason enough to book a stay!
7 / the breakfast
The seriously impressive breakfast buffet, served on the twelfth floor restaurant VIU - with gorgeous views over the Bangkok skyline - literally features the best in Thai and Western breakfast and lunch food items. We could have spent hours just eating!
6 / the butler service
The world-class Butler service at the St. Regis is no joke - they iron and present your garments, unpack and pack your luggage, polish your shoes, bring warm and cold beverages, even run the bath. And guess what? It's complimentary for hotel guests so literally, why wouldn't you indulge?
5 / the spa
The luxurious ELEMIS Spa is located right on the premises, offering not only the best in Thai massages and facial services, but also access to their tranquil facilities which feature little nests to unwind and hot and cold bathing pools to feel truly sublime.
4 / the turn down service
One of my absolute favourite things about luxury hotels is the turn down service, and at the St. Regis Bangkok, it not only includes the standard water and untucked bed, but also traditional desserts like Mango with Sticky Rice!! We were so excited to come home from dinner and find this sweet surprise!
3 / the pool
The infinity pool overlooking an expansive golf course is the perfect little oasis, with lush tropical plants flanking the many lounge chairs. Even for me, a non-swimmer, I loved lounging here and enjoy the fresh St. Regis branded coconuts that our butler delivered to us upon arrival.
2 / the champagne ritual
The St. Regis time honoured traditional of the sunset Champagne sabring to formally celebrate the evening is something practiced at the Sky Lounge and is the perfect excuse for a glass of bubbly.
1 / the breakfast boxes
An early checkout is usually accompanied with breakfast boxes, but never have we received such luxurious meal kits, complete with custom menu cards, cutlery, and branded bottled water. I mean, this was the perfect departure from the most luxurious hotel stay!
