Slowly, but oh so surely, Winter is giving way to Spring, and soon to full blown Summer. And as much as we here in Calgary are used to almost eight solid months of cold, snowy winter, which inevitably calls for some well-cut dark denim, lets remember that Summers embrace, while short-lived, gives us even more reasons to full celebrate it via our daily style. CUE THE LIGHT WASHED DENIM.
Light wash jeans can elevate your look from everyday mundane to fresh casual chic. I personally find them to be hella comfortable, and just a notch out of the ordinary – you’re not rocking a man-skirt like Marc Jacobs, but you’re still not the regular dark bootcut/straight cut jean wearing fella. They display the perfect proportion of a healthy sense of style.
Seven for All Mankind Jeans have come up with some absolute dope Vintage washes, which IYBC reported on last month in a Confessions of a Denim Connoisseur post. From the 7s collection this Spring/Summer 09, I loved the Bootcut Flynts in the Vintage Nakita Wash, shown below. The Flynt always comes just once a season, and its usually offered in a wicked wash. I especially like the detailing on the back pocket, plus the bootcut is a very flattering cut for someone with thunder thighs, like yours truly.
