Jurr Turns 21 #8: Concert or Tea?

  • March 30, 2009

“What the heck do I get you for your birthday?
Either you have everything you want or you’re super picky”

Looks like someone didn’t check out my Birthday Wishlists. Hahaha jk

In lie of this dilemma, Rye thought of the most cultured birthday gift idea, two tickets to the Four Seasons via Antonio Vivaldi playing at the Jack Singer Concert Hall yesterday at 8:00 pm. We both donned our best/sickest threads, and headed into downtown. Thing was, we were gripping our two tickets from some girl who couldn’t attend because she had something to do for “Earth Hour” (more on that later), and so we had to find someone in pink shoes and blue scarf, outside of JSCH, with our two tickets (shady much?).

Needless to say, Rye got their just as she had gotten rid of our tickets, thinking that we weren’t going to show up. Wow, disappointed? Yeah, but we were decked out, with a whole night to ourselves. So, we decided to make the best of the situation and popped into Oolong Tea House in Kensington, where we shared a large steamer of Blueberry Blitz Tea from their Rooibos Tea collection. Extracted from South Africa, it was their priciest tea on the menu, but man was it worth it. And while we were there, they celebrated Earth Hour as well (8:30 pm MTN), by shutting off all their lights. So, we enjoyed our delicious tea and scrumptious pastries in the dark, with scattered tea lights barely eluminting the tiny cafe.

A very enjoyable experience to say the least,
and something well worth our while to check out.
Thanks for the wicked birthday present bro.
