CALGARY, CANADA
Most of you know that I am obsessed with Christmas – my inner little boy comes out starting in November and stays until January, where I get excited about gifts, cookies, carols, movies, plays, dinner, champagne, velvet tuxedo blazers, etc. But this Christmas in particular is immensely important and probably the most special one. This is the first Christmas that Monika and I are married – so it is our “first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs!” – it is also the first time since 2012 that we are spending Christmas/New Years at home, and it’s our very first Christmas in our current home. We have been collecting Christmas decorations and tree ornaments since like 2011 I think? So you can imagine my excitement when I got to finally deck out our place and host our very first Christmas party together. Last year, we spent Christmas in Europe as we were there at that time finalizing the wedding details, and the year before in 2013, our Christmas was spent in Mexico, plus we had just taken possession of our house and renovations had begun. So this year, we are actually looking forward to hanging out in our home, not travelling, and just enjoying our space and the simple pleasures of Christmas. It is the best time of year, right?
