Its pretty scary that every day that I get old, those age-old (what I thought were) clichés are proving to be truer and realer. Keep your friends close, shoot for the stars, learn to love yourself first. I’ve most likely tweeted these, used them as Instagram captions, and posted them on websites of the olden days (CalgaryPlanet, AsianAvenue, Nexopia) – but man oh man do they prove to be realer and realer every day. You really can’t give your heart, your mind, your soul to anyone or anything until you allow yourself to have them. When you begin to be completely honest with yourself, and then begin to fall in love with everything about yourself, you can feel such a sense of relief, of comfort, of acceptance, the likes which no other human begin can ever give you. Am I beginning to sound like Kanye West? Good, I have no problem with that.
