Music Is My Savior

  • June 10, 2008

M.I.M.S. said it best, and it’s all in his name. Music is my savior. Music can really uplift you, transform your mood, brighten up your day, or bring you down. (SIDEBAR: I had the pleasure to get a free copy of MIMS’s debut album when I was in Toronto’s Much On Demand last year for my 19th Birthday. Needless to say, it’s a killer peice of work. Awesome beats and some pretty decent rap.)

Sitting here @ work, I process invoice requests, follow up with clients, update and create customer numbers, work on returned ambulance invoices, investigate into claims, etc. To save myself from going compelely nuts, I have my ever-charged, always-updated, cant-live-without 4G iPod Nano.

Lately, some tracks have really made me think;

Gone Going (ft. John Legend)
Black Eyed Peas – Monkey Business (2005)
You addicted to material; I’ve seen your kind before
You the type that thinks souls is sold in a store

With You
Chris Brown – Exclusive(2007)
Without you there’s no one left,
You’re like Jordans on Saturday
I gotta have you and I cannot wait now

Spaceship (ft. GLC & Consequence)
KanYe West – College Dropout (2004)
I remember havin’ to take the dollar cab
Coming home real late at night standing on my feet all damn day
Trying to make this thing right

Take It From Here
Justin Timberlake – Justified (2002)
I wanna be your air, so sweet and fair;
So when you feel that you can’t breathe
Ma I’ll be there

Take a Bow
Rihanna – Single (2008)
And the award for the best lie goes to you;
For making me believe that you could be faithful to me.
Let’s hear your speech.
