A few weeks ago, I was on a regular Friday night date with my girlfriend. We had Grande Starbucks in hand, just came out from a smoke, and were browsing Holts. She was at YSL looking for her lipstick of the week, and I wandered over to the men’s fragrances section. I was carelessly fingering through the tray FULL of bottles of many shapes and sizes, and something caught my attention. Cologne, by Tom Ford. How interesting. The fashion icon that had reconstructed Gucci from the ground up, was now dipping his fingers into the world of fragrance, with his own brand. Anyway, I sprayed some on my hand and went my way.
My girlfriend bought some lipsticks from YSL and some foundation from NARS, and we rushed to make our dinner reservations @ Tangerine. And that’s when it hit me. That wonderful scent encompassing me was the sheer genius which is Tom Ford. It smelled intensely perfect; masculine, with a scent of sexiness. I had to have it.
In the weeks following, I dropped many hints to my parents to get it for me for Christmas (ex: “Mom, get me Tom Ford cologne for Christmas. I emailed dad the name and the photo of it”). Mom came back to me saying they didn’t carry it anywhere. Well whatever if Mom/Dad were being cheap, I’d just buy it for myself! Everyone should indulge in a little personal Christmas cheer.
So I’m last minute Christmas shopping @ Market the other day. I checked every department store for Tom Ford: Shoppers Drug Mart, the Bay, Sephora, even Zellers! No where had it. One of the sales associates @ Shoppers guessed it was probably exclusive to Holt Renfrew.
Yesterday, I found myself, once again, at Holts, trying on the DSQUARED2 shoes that I had ordered in (they’re ugly on), and something caught my attention; TOM FORD GIFT SET.
Long story short (or not as long) I bought it instantly. Best purchase of this month, hands down. I LOVE it.
