Random Encouragement

  • November 9, 2011

“There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the uselessness and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living. Always keep fighting and never let anyone bring you down. When people do things to hurt you, it just shows their character not yours. Never change for anyone and always appreciate life.”

These words were sent to me by someone who shall remain anonymous (but you know who you are!) at the best – or worst? – of times. When its one of those days where you question the decisions you’ve made, the people who have come in and out of your life, and wonder where this journey will take you, there is nothing better then checking your Blackberry and receiving this message. Its always a welcome reminder to let go of regrets but to also learn from them, and just to live the life you’ve been given. This is why I thank God on the daily for those who He has blessed me with – those who constantly remind me of the good. The Starving Stylist recently quoted John F. Kennedy on his twitter: “forgive your enemies, but never forget their names”. I’m not sure how I feel about this; can you truly forgive without forgetting? Or can you really forget without forgiving?
